Gone Before They're Even Here

Fiddleheads.



These are so incredibly delicious when sauteed in butter with a little salt and pepper. In the Northeast these pop up for a week or two about this time of year. We had a big batch that grew at the end of the driveway where the snowplows piled up sand all winter long.

Oh my GOSH !! I have heard tales of the huge incrudible delight to be had from the simple fiddlehead.

That is FABULOUSLY beautiful and now I'm hungry.
We're considering moving to maine and they're very big up there.
Stuck in the sandtrap of Florida I had never heard of such and I'm FROM up north.Thanks for sharing..
