.かたつぶりそろそろ登れ富士の山
katatsuburi
soro-soro nobore
fuji no yama
"little snail
inch by inch, climb
Mount Fuji!"
Issa, 1763-1827
But I repeat myself.
"Suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly someone will say 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp,' out of the blue. No explanation and there's no point in looking for one either. It's all part of the cosmic unconsciousness." Tracey Walter as "Miller" in "Repo Man"

i tried very hard to truly understand what this haiku means, but i end up more confused each time i tried. life's irony seems to be the best explanation, but what if it means something else? something much deeper, which for the life of me, i can never understand?
