True nursing story:
Years ago I was working a quiet emergency room shift and I overheard one of the surgeons doing a bedside procedure on a woman who had a benign breast lump.
The woman's husband quite proudly explained, as the surgeon numbed the area and excised the pea-sized little blob, that he himself had found the lump in his wife's breast.
The surgeon, curious, said "Really?! How did you find it?"
And he sheepishly said that he had "dropped his eyeglasses and was looking for them."
